Users are required to attend instructor led training classes though the HR Organizational Development before being issued a User ID and password for USF Business Systems. Additionally, training is also required to gain access to specific user roles and/or specific modules.
Basic Training Online
After completing Basic Training, users will need to register for additional classroom training courses.
FAST: Users should view the FAST Navigation initial pre-class tutorial to begin their FAST training.

GEMS: Users should complete the online GEMS Basic initial pre-class training course to begin their GEMS training. This online training course is a pre-requisite for classroom training.

Classroom Training Registration
Registration for both FAST and GEMS classroom training courses is administered through GEMS Self Service. Navigate through GEMS Self-Service > Self Service > Learning and Development > Request Training Enrollment. Search for the desired course by course name to find descriptions and schedules. Users that need assistance should contact HR Organizational Development at (813) 974-3090 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. It is recommended that users view the GEMS Self-Service Registration Guide prior to registering for classroom training.

Classroom Training Courses
Users should visit the HR Organizational Development web site for training courses and Registration Details. To review your training sessions in GEMS Self Service, navigate to Self Service > Learning and Development > Review Training Summary.

FAST: For new staff, to receive full benefit from the training, a suggested schedule would be:
- USF Financial Systems Overview and or Making Cents of Accounting
- Specialized system programs like P-card, Purchasing Hands-on Requisition, Billing and AR, Banking, Travel, or Cash Collections
- General Ledger
- Finance Mart
GEMS: There is recommended training for various GEMS user roles. Please view the GEMS Access and User Roles tutorial. This tutorial explains the GEMS user roles and how to request access. To determine user roles and associated training classes, users should visit the GEMS Access Roles page.
Users that have training questions should contact the relevant Core Lead Team member for the specific module or area in question.
USF Business Procedures
USF has a knowledge database for business procedures called Business Processes. Users can search by category or enter a phrase. Users can submit a question to a Subject Matter Expert who will respond as soon as possible.
